WHAT QUALITY BALL EXACTLY DO I BUY???

The quality/durability of a baseball depends on the quality of the leather used and the way it is tanned (nice white or a bit yellowish) and what the inside is made of. The inside in particular determines how hard it can be hit and whether the ball remains round. The inside also largely determines the price, after all, cork or pressed rubber is much cheaper than polyester/wool thread with a Cushioned cork center with two layers of rubber. The ball does not come off the bat well and/or gives a soft plop instead of a dry hard tap? This is almost certainly due to the inside of the ball. Because the correct pictures are not always shown, we advise you to saw a ball in half and compare it if in doubt, the term "cheap is expensive" certainly applies. Below you can see the most common ball insides, the two on the left are “wire wound” balls and these are the highest quality, the far right is a cork ball, this is the lowest quality.
